Through
Surrogacy

Fertility Miracles offers two types of surrogacy programs to choose from. Gestational Surrogacy, the most common type of surrogacy, is where an egg from the intended parent or donor is fertilized with the intended parent’s sperm, and an embryo is then transferred into the uterus of the surrogate. In Traditional Surrogacy, the surrogate uses her own eggs to be fertilized with the intended parent’s sperm through Artificial Insemination, which deposits the specimen into the surrogate’s uterus. In both cases, 14 days later a blood pregnancy test will be taken to determine whether the surrogate mother is pregnant.

How Do You Choose a Surrogate

We offer our prospective parent the possibility of browsing through an online surrogate database, which lists candidates that are ready to proceed with a surrogacy journey. There is no waiting list, and the database is updated frequently.

Each surrogate profile presents a photo album, and their family and home environment. You can access this database with username and a password. Click here to obtain your login at no cost to you!

Once you locate a preferred candidate, Fertility Miracles will coordinate a conference call to make sure all parties make a connection and are agreeable to move forward with the surrogacy process. A meeting in person also can be arranged as well, depending on your preference, location, and disposition to travel.

All of the pertinent information, including but not limited to psychological screening and background checks, medical records, and personal beliefs, is used to assist our highly experienced and educated staff in making the most compatible and successful surrogacy match.

No Fees are due to our organization until you are successfully matched with a surrogate mother.

How Does the Process Work Once You Have Selected Your Surrogate?

We understand your work and family commitments may not allow you to travel as easily or as often as you would wish. That is why we have created our program with you in mind, taking into consideration your limited availability, as well as the financial factor.

  1. Consultation with the physician and staff of the selected fertility clinic.
  2. Consultation with the health insurance broker to discuss insurance on the surrogate.
  3. The surrogate will undergo a current physical exam as well as a psychological evaluation prior to the start of any hormonal medications.
  4. Consultation with the attorney to review the legal contract between yourself and the surrogate.
  5. Once the contracts are signed by all parties involved a cycle calendar will be provided to the surrogate with important dates and prescription medications. The physician’s office will go over in detail the names of the medications and instructions on their use.
  6. On the set date an embryo transfer will occur to the surrogate. Often, the surrogate will be instructed to be on bed rest for the first 36 to 48 hours following the embryo transfer.
  7. From 12 to 14 days after the date of the insemination, a blood pregnancy test will be ordered to determine whether the surrogate is pregnant. If positive, after three weeks an ultrasound will confirm the heartbeat and full viability of the pregnancy.
  8. Twelve weeks into her pregnancy the surrogate will be released from the IVF specialist to an OBGYN office who will monitor the pregnancy as needed through the full term, and deliver the baby. We recommend the surrogate using the same doctor that delivered her own children.
  9. During the last trimester of pregnancy the attorney will go to court for the pre-birth judgment to make sure your names will be put on the birth certificate prior to delivery. Travel will need to be planned as the delivery date approaches. No adoption process is necessary in California.
  10. Upon delivery the hospital will treat you as the parent of the child(ren).
